The Opportunity

As a dedicated Actuarial Analyst II on the Property Pricing Segmentation team, you will coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analyses required to develop new products, project future results, reprice existing products, and/or determine financial strength. Under minimal supervision, perform moderately complex work assignments and problem resolution.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. The Opportunity

What you'll do:

• Acquire and apply developing knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
• Utilize actuarial modeling software for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management.
• Enter data and tables, runs models, and generates reports.
• May make adjustments and improvements to models, when appropriate.
• Maintain proper price level, price structure, data availability and other requirements to achieve profitability and competitive goals.
• Identify critical experience areas to monitor and suggest timely remedies to correct or prevent unfavorable trends.
• Identify sources of gain and loss by product and assumption.
• Resolve issues and identifies appropriate issues for escalation.
• Adhere to the USAA Actuarial Exam Program Guidelines and the Actuarial Cross Train Program Guidelines.
• Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

• Bachelor's Degree OR 4 additional years of Actuarial/business/analytical experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a Degree.
• 2 years of Actuarial/business/analytical experience + 3 CAS exams

What sets you apart:

• Experience working with or interpreting GLMs (General Linear Models)
• Experience using SQL/SAS to query data quickly for reports and analyses
• Autonomous organizational and project/timeline management skills
• Demonstrated experience as a routine contributor (and occasional presenter) to staff meeting discussions
• Experience with Personal Property and/or Auto lines of business and their associated rating structures
• US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $74,210 - $141,830.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
