Business Analyst - Property Asset Management

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Business Analyst in Property Asset Management to join them on a 6 month contract. Please note that this contract is Inside of IR35 and will have to be set-up as Umbrella/PAYE. This Business Analyst role for Property Asset Management will have an integrated knowledge base potentially encompassing Core Property asset information, Estate management, Repairs & Maintenance, 'Soft' Facilities management, Lease Management, Sustainability, Valuations, Capital Accounting, Compliance (including Health & Safety) & Regulations (including Financial).

Key deliverables and skills for the Business Analyst in Property Asset Management include:

  • Integrate a new Corporate Landlord Model & Best Practice Asset Management with limited understanding of as-is functions and processes to establish a to-be vision
  • A successful candidate would need to be comfortable with ambiguity, tenacious and pragmatic around conducting discovery work. They will need to contribute to, structure work around and stay in continuous reference to a 'bigger picture'. Knowledge of centralised property Asset Management at a Local Authority may be advantageous.
  • Determine compatibility, readiness, gaps and connections to related pieces of in-progress work
  • A successful candidate would need to be comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders, able to form strong working relationships with other members of the programme team and adept at navigating complexity.
  • Review, prioritise and refine functional requirements (with reference to concluded Soft-Market Testing and on-going Local Authority Research)
  • A successful candidate will need to have considerable experience with requirements engineering and documentation for procurement and testing, skilled at ensuring those requirements accurately reflect user needs and working closely with a variety of stakeholders to ensure requirements are owned and signed off
  • Map user roles, data flows, reporting requirements and to-be processes against underlying IT architecture with a Solution Architect
  • A successful candidate will need to be a good team player with good technical understanding, able to map functionality and data flows and translate technical language and concepts to non-technical subject matter experts.

During this assignment you will be asked to:

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary project team, managed by a Project Manager, with technical and service subject matter experts.
  • Work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Proactively undertake all necessary business analysis tasks including gaining a solid understanding of current as-is services, including but not limited to staff, costings, service offer and income. Initially this could involve identifying and reviewing work, data and analysis that has been done in this space previously.
  • Research how comparable authorities/companies deliver similar services and support market testing.
  • Use workshops and other BA techniques to conclude the discovery and analysis phase pre-procurement
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Document and communicate your findings and ideas to the project team, service and other stakeholders in an effective format to support options shaping and enable decision-making.
  • Shape and evaluate options as part of business case development.

An experienced business analyst with a range of analytical skills and expertise, able to demonstrate:

  • Experience and track record of eliciting and refining requirements for a tender exercise.
  • A high level of facilitation and communication skills (including interpersonal skills and rapport building)
  • Experience with work of a sensitive nature
  • Experience of Service Re-design, including As Is analysis and To Be design.
  • The drive to proactively and continuously problem-solve and work creatively to maximise the effectiveness of the Services we deliver.
  • The ability to contribute to and thrive in a collaborative, evolving work environment.
  • Our expectation is that you will have adapted your BA practice to working remotely via Microsoft Teams.
